From January 2015, all GP practices were given the option of being able to register patients who live outside their practice area. However, this is purely voluntary and the practice has chosen not to take on this enhanced service as we feel we cannot guarantee the safety and quality of care to these patients. As we have not taken on this service, we must provide home visits to all our patients (where clinically appropriate)and we are therefore unable to offer patients the choice of being registered at this practice without offering home visits.
The ability for a GP practice to refuse registration on the grounds the patient lives outside the practice area remains unchanged. Therefore, if you move outside our practice area, you will be asked to register with another practice and given 30 days notice before you are removed from our practice list. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
