Covid Vaccine update

The Rotherham vaccination programme is currently vaccinating those within group 6, which includes all individuals aged 16 years to 65 years with underlying health conditions, carers and people with learning disabilities. For a full list of underlying health conditions please go to: https://yourhealthrotherham.co.uk/covid-vaccine/

This group covers a very large number of people within Rotherham and we are working hard to vaccinate eligible individuals as soon as possible over the coming weeks as vaccine supply arrives in Rotherham. We will be in contact with people to book their vaccine appointment in the near future. Thank you for your patience.

According to the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) and Public Health England Green Book, adult carers are “those who are eligible for a carer’s allowance, or those who are the sole or primary carer of an elderly or disabled person who is at increased risk of COVID-19 mortality and therefore clinically vulnerable”.

Over 60s receiving a national NHS letter

People in group 7 (aged 60-69) are starting to receive a national NHS booking service letter inviting you to a COVID mass vaccination centre or pharmacy hub outside of the borough. If there is a suitable location and time slot available you are able to book to get your vaccine via the national system. If not, you can wait to be contacted by the NHS in Rotherham when we get to your group. Please do not ring your GP practice or visit a local vaccination site to try to book a vaccine in Rotherham. We will contact you.

Please Note – It may take a few weeks for local Rotherham vaccination sites to get to priority group 7 as we continue to work through the very large number of people who are in group 6 (all individuals aged 16 years to 65 years with underlying health conditions, carers and people with learning disabilities).

We would like to remind you that covid vaccines are not booked through ourselves and is done via an external source, we ask that you please do not call reception or email us with covid vaccine queries. If you have any questions see the website above, if you qualify for the vaccine you will be contacted and to be patient.

Many thanks,

Team Blyth Road
